MISSION STATEMENT

The Mission of Christian Education in Liberia is To Provide a Christ-centered Education to the Children of Liberia and Offer Hope for their Future.

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”
– Matthew 25:40

Gifts of Hope School celebrated its grand-opening for Preschool through 3rd grade on September 8, 2018.  The school was established by Harry Gorwor and is supported by the non-profit organization, Christian Education in Liberia (CEL). In this third world country, education is a privilege for only those who can afford it. Fewer than 4 out of 10 children in Liberia attend school.  GOH school is reaching children in its surrounding rural area who would otherwise not have a chance to attend school, learn to read and write, or in some cases, experience Christ’s love.

An average teacher salary in Liberia is only $150 per month, but this amount is a burden on schools as most families cannot afford even basic tuition. At GOH, we have determined that by supporting teachers both financially and with continued education classes taught by Calvin University professors, we are able to provide a quality Christian education to students who would otherwise not be able to afford it. Without your support, GOH cannot continue to minister to the children living in the Kakata region.

    Reach out to GOH!
